These Pet Doors are available in large size only and include special metal trim around the flap to make them Guaranteed chew-proof. Because of this guaranteed, you will never need to purchase replacement flaps. Unlike most Plexidor dog doors, the Large BiteGuard Kennelplex is hinged at the top rather than the familiar side-hinges "saloon door" style.

Plexidor BiteGuard Wall KennelPlex:

This door is intended for installation through walls of any thickness from 4" to 12" and is intended both for kennel applications as well as for home use with dogs likely to try to chew the flap. Available in one size, large, this kennel door will accommodate large dogs to around 100 lbs. See Measure Your Pet for our suggestions about measuring.

The hollow, plexiglas flap has metal framing around the edges to discourage chewing.

The outside opening is is cut 2" lower than the inside opening which encourages water to flow to the outside rather than the inside of the house.

Plexidor Wall Tunnel Kit:

The Plexidor Wall Tunnel Kit is useful if you have a Plexidor pet door and want to install it in a wall instead of a door. The wall must be between 4" and 12" thick. This kit is available for all "side swinging" or "saloon" style Plexidors but not for the top swinging large KennelPlex with Bite Guard Plexidor.An important feature of this kit is that the outside framing is 2" taller than the rough cut out of the Plexidor that it fits. The result is that there is a downward slope to the tunnel which encourages rainwater to flow toward the outside.As with all wall installations, we recommend a licensed contractor for the installation.

The Protector Wall Kit extends the self-framing feature of the Protector Dog Door to accommodate 2x4 and 2x6 stud walls (4 3/4" - 5 1/4" or 6 3/4"-7 1/4") So this kit is all you need provided that your wall thickness is in one of those ranges. If it is not (please ask a contractor if in doubt!), then we would recommend purchasing the pet door alone and having the contractor "frame in" the wall for you.

Classy Custom "Magnum" Series Pet Portals:

Pet doors have always been a utilitarian product--let the dog or cat in or out--without much regard for "style". Now Classy Custom has introduced a line of pet doors that are high performance but, also, incorporate designer features.

The stainless steel "Magnum" series

Strong, durable pet doors crafted in stainless steel. These feature a stainless steel locking cover fastened by a strong dead bolt lock. The lock opens with a 1/4 turn counter-clockwise and locks with a 1/4 turn clockwise. Each door includes one plastic decorative frame in white.

High performance features

All Classy Custom pet doors incorporate a silicone flap that is very soft and flexible. The flap is fastened at the top with screws.

These flaps incorporate magnetic edges that provide for an air-tight seal on the sides. Together with a floating threshold, the flap seals tightly on all four sides.

The Pet Portals are "self-framing" in a range of 1/16" to 2". This means that the Classy Custom pet doors may be installed in virtually every exterior, interior (including hollow core) and storm door on the market. (Measure your door thickness to be safe).

Once you've selected the Pet Portal, you have a wide choice of decorative frames and frame "sets" that may be added to the outside or interior as desired. You can find them in our Flap & Parts Section.These include the four "Sherbet Alley" colors, graphite and special frame sets that reflect special occasions. (Frame "sets" include a steel door painted to continue the theme of the frame and would mount on the inside only). Classy Custom Decorative Rugs:

These Rugs and Welcome Mats are available in a variety of shapes and designs to complement any decor. Sizes are 19" x 30" for both the rectangular shapes and the semi-circular shapes.

PetSafe Pet Doors (Staywell)

PetSafe Deluxe Patio Pet Door:

When Radio Systems purchased both US Pet Products (formerly Pet-Eze) and Johnson Pet Dor in 1998, they found themselves with two lines of panel pet doors--the Pet-Eze Deluxe 81 and the Johnson Patio Panel. Rather than continue these two popular lines, Radio Systems decided to combine what they felt were the best features of both into a new panel pet door using their trade name 'PetSafe'. The result is the PetSafe Deluxe Patio Panel Pet Door which we carry in every size, adjustment range and frame color available.

This Ppetsafe deluxe door incorporates the original Pet-Eze flap in the same sizes that were originally available in the Pet-Eze Deluxe 81 series excluding the 'Medium/Tall' (81/2" W x 15" H with 5" Rise). Though the Pet-Eze flap is one-part, as opposed to the Johnson two-part flap, it performs reasonably well and has been extremely popular over the years. The one-part design is also more compact, which leaves more room for you to walk out the door.

A major concern of the old Pet-Eze panel, however, was that a hacksaw was needed for installation and this seemed to be a barrier for some customers. Therefore, the remainder of the new PetSafe panel is identical to the discontinued Johnson panel which had a spring-loaded self-adjusting height feature.

In short, the new PetSafe patio panel is the same as the Johnson patio panel but with PetEze flaps and step-over dimensions.

The locking mechinism on the petsafe deluxe pet door mechanism provided to lock your sliding glass door consists of a lock mounted on the pet door (not shown in the graphic) together with a bracket intended to be mounted on the sliding glass door with sheet metal screws. The lock then engages the bracket locking the door closed. Notice that this approach is why the pet door must be semi-permanent only as the lock would not work if the pet door were not screwed down. The PetSafe lock does not mate to the lock on your sliding glass door--too many different ones out there.

The Freedom Panel is similar in quality, but the dimensions are different. Some of the flaps have also been discontinued, but there are still a few sizes available.

PetSafe 280US Big Cat / Small Dog 4-Way Locking formerly Staywell 280:

Originally known as the Staywell 280 "Big Cat" Flap) is a small/medium sized pet door designed for installation in plate glass, tempered glass (with the help of a glazier) or any solid or hollow core door. It would also be appropriate for installation in a Plexiglas or polycarbonate panel substituted for a piece of tempered glass.

A 'core cover' piece is included for installation in a hollow core door whether metal, wood or storm door design.

Also known as the staywell big cat door it was size appropriate for small to very large cats and dogs to about 22 lbs. As always, we suggest you simulate the opening and test with your pets before ordering.

A 4-way locking mechanism is included.

Flap is rigid and clear. White frame only.

This PetSafe Cat Flap is identical to the discontinued Staywell 270 Slim Profile except the 270 had a frosted, colorless frame.

PetSafe Originally Staywell 700 'Original' Dog Door:

This petsafe original was known as the Staywell 700 Series "Original" pet doors prior to the PetSafe purchase of Staywell. They went by the petsafe 715, petsafe 740, and petsafe 760.

PetSafe has made a number of improvements in the Staywell 700 'Original' series pet doors since purchase.

These are 'Standard' design, plastic framed pet doors suitable for installation in solid core wood doors or other solid materials. Installation in a wall or hollow-core door requires that the user 'frame out' the door or wall first.

PetSafe has incorporated some significant improvements in the medium and large sizes of these dog doors.

Flaps are rigid and consist of two parts: A central flap and overlapping 'U' shaped gasket piece. The result is an unusually tight sealing flap. Because of this two-part design, this pet door is relatively noisy in use.

Rigid, separate locking covers slide down from the top. These 'Original' pet doors are available in white frame with clear flap only.

PetSafe Builder Panel Pet Door Insert

PetSafe 4-Way Locking Cat Flap formerly Staywell 300:

The PetSafe 4-Way Locking Cat Flap, White (previously the Staywell 300 4-way locking cat flap) has a flap dimension of 6 1/4" w x 5 1/2 " h

It is self-framing from 0" to 2 1/4" out of the box and tunnel extensions are available which may be added by the user to increase the maximum to any length.

For example, a self-framing wall mount for any thickness wall could be implemented by simply adding the tunnel extensions.

Staywell 4-Way Lock Problem Areas and Improvements

Complaints have been received that some pets could force open the 4-way lock. Also, some have found the imprinted numbers on the knob difficult to read.

Improvements Made

The new Staywell 4-way lock is more than 2.5 times secure as a result of these specific improvements:

• Increased tab length: Greater surface for lock to engage
• Raised teeth interlock: added feature to prevent lock from stripping.
• Lock assembly moved for greater leverage.
• Numbers were made more visible on the improved knob design.

4-way lock

Unlocked - This setting allows entry in both directions.

Out-Only - When the pet goes out, he cannot come back in again. A possible use for this setting would be a case where you want the pet out during the day. You'd set the flap on "out only" in the morning.

Cat flaps with 4-way locks always have rigid flaps which are necessary for the mechanism to work.

PetSafe Instant Patio Pet Door-The "Instafit":

This door by PetSafe was originally developed by Pet-Eze in the 1980's. Named the "Insta-Panel" Portable Pet Panel, It was available in three sizes--corresponding to the current PetSafe Classic series small, medium and medium/tall-- and, together with the Pet-Eze Deluxe 81 panels, constituted what was certainly the most advanced patio pet door offering of the day. Unlike the Deluxe 81 panels, the "Insta-Panel" did not include a locking cover.

Pet-Eze, later known as US Pet Products, was bought out by PetSafe at the turn of the century and continued this pet door with some changes. The sizes offered were reduced to the single medium/tall. But the adjustment range was broadened to 76 3/4"" to 81" from its original 78 1/2" - 80" which significantly broadens the number of sliding glass doors that it will fit.

The PetSafe "Insta-Fit" Panel, the PetSafe Freedom panels and the PetSafe Deluxe panels have spring-loaded height adjustments. The difference in the case of the "Instant" version is that there are thumb screws to lock the springs in place after installation. Thus no tools are required to install this patio pet door.

The glass is regular 1/8" tempered and this is still no locking cover. It is not available for over sized patio doors or for short patio doors. The only frame color offered is satin aluminum.

Because the step-over dimension is so short, this panel is a particularly good choice for someone who has a fairly small older or arthritic dog who needs a smaller step-over.

PetSafe Passport Pet Access Smart System:

Controls pet access with a Passport Key--actually an RFID chip--worn on your pets collar. Only pets with programmed Passport Keys are allowed to enter or exit your home. Other strays, rodents and other pests are locked out. Likewise, your 'inside cat' is kept in out of harms way. One Passport Key is included with the pet door.

Programming of the Passport Key is accomplished with an led screen and 5 button navigation. Or you may connect your PC using the included USB cable. Up to 20 pets may be controlled by this pet door.

The control choices are the most varied we've seen. You can set 4-way locking, selective entry and exit by pet, and access by time of day for each pet. All of this will be included in the remote programming option.

Pet Tracking shows you both your pet's current location as well as the last 4 times that specific pet used the pet door.

The patented multi-point locking system overlaps the flap and frame on both sides for a superior seal as well as 100 lb push resistance against intruders. This may be the best-locking electronic pet door we've seen.

Power for the pet door is provided by a low voltage power adapter with 6' cord that plugs into your wall recepticle. If home power is not available near your installation location, you may use an optional lithium-ion rechargeable battery unit which installs in the frame of the pet door.

PetSafe 4-Way Locking Cat Flap Staywell 300 for Walls:

This special cat door was previously the Staywell 300 4-way locking cat flap, has a flap dimension of 6 1/4" w x 5 1/2 " h. It is self-framing from 0" to 2 1/4" out of the box and tunnel extensions are available which may be added by the user to increase the maximum to any length.

For example, a self-framing wall mount for any thickness wall could be implemented by simply adding the tunnel extensions. Each tunnel extension is 1 7/8" wide.

PetSafe / Staywell Infra-Red 500:

The PetSafe / Staywell Infrared Cat Flap is designed to be a more accurate and discriminatory cat door. For instance, it is possible to have two cats, each using their own door and unable to use each other's. The infrared collar tag is much easier for the door to detect, this along with the capability of adjusting the timed lock allows the lock to react quickly to keep other cats in or to react more slowly to let older cats approach the door before it re-locks. The 500 series is designed to be mounted in doors or walls.

Staywell 932 Magnetic Cat Door:

This Cat Flap does not rely upon batteries or electricity to operate. Instead, the force of the magnetic 'collar key' activates a latch within the pet door to release the flap.

The door includes a 4-way lock which has been significantly improved over the original design.

Since this pet door is self-framing it may be installed in any door including solid or hollow core, metal (aluminum or other non-magnetic material), insulation filled etc. Adjustment range for the self-framing feature is 0" to 2". It should not be installed in a door made from steel or other magnetic material.

Hint: How to tell--Take any magnet and see if it's attracted to the door you intend to use.

Reversed installation (turning the pet door around so that it controls from the inside rather than from the outside) will void the warranty. Staywell provides one collar key is provided and spare keys with collar may be ordered at the collar keys page.

You'll need your own collar for the collar keys listed here. But Staywell has a nice collar of their own offered with collar key that will work fine with the 932.

Staywell believes that this pet door is suitable for cats to about 15 lbs. When used for a dog, we'd suggest shading that value back a bit. As always, please measure before purchase.

Staywell Magnetic 932 Cat Door and Wall Liner Kit:

This Cat door and wall liner allow the purchase of a magnetic cat door and the needed liners to allow installation through a wall. Note that the Staywell 932 is now manufactured by the new owner of Staywell, PetSafe. So you may see this pet door referred to by both manufacturers.

Each liner contributes 1 7/8" to the tunnel length. Purchase enough to get within 2" of the total wall thickness. The 932 Magnetic Cat Door will supply the balance and will slide in for a tight fit.

Staywell Screen Fitting Door:

The Staywell Screen Door is an easy low cost solution to placing a pet door into most screen doors, screen windows, and ultra thin surfaces. The pet door requires only household tools for its easy installation, the flap is see through-tinted, the door is low maintenance, and it is designed to accommodate small dogs (up to 7lbs) and most cats (up to 15lbs). Though the model is ultimately designed to be placed into a screened opening, snapped together, and then the screen cut out; it can also work on other very thin surfaces.

Staywell 270 Clear Glass Fitting Cat Door:

Discontinued Staywell small/medium sized pet door designed for installation in plate glass, tempered glass (with the help of a glazier) or any solid or hollow core door. It would also be appropriate for installation in a Plexiglas or polycarbonate panel substituted for a piece of tempered glass.

A 'core cover' piece is included for installation in a hollow core door whether metal, wood or storm door design.

PetSafe suggests that this size is appropriate for small to very large cats and dogs to about 22 lbs. As always, we suggest you simulate the opening and test with your pets before ordering.

A 4-way locking mechanism is included.

Flap is rigid and clear. White frame only.

This PetSafe Cat Flap is identical to the Staywell 280 Slim Profile except the 270 has a frosted, colorless frame.

Pet-Corps Cat Doors for Through Glass:

Pet-corps produces two versions of its through glass cat doors. Really large cat doors, one is intended for single pane glass only while the second will accommodate single or dual pane glass to any thickness. Of course, both will also fit solid panel materials like plywood, polycarbonate or plexiglas. Simply stay inside the maximum self-framing dimension--which is different for each one--and you're fine.

Other differences are: The first, the PC1-C is clear while the second, the PC2-W is white and the PC1-C is intended to fit the cut-out of pet doors made by other manufacturers while the PC2-W is probably too large for this.

Both are strongly built of polycarbonate with a silicone brush seal to prevent drafts.

Pet-Corp Pet Doors for Walls:

Flap

This flexible flap is made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) resin. Rigid flaps have a risk factor for injuring your pet or even a small child. The TPU flap will not puncture, tear, or change shape in extreme low or high temperature and is safe for pets. Dark tint to prevent sun damage and increases insulation and security. With the two flap version, the pet corp dog doors for walls is a relatively high insulating pet door.

Two Flap Version

This is among the better insulating dog doors. It creates an air pocket between the flaps and doubles the protection against drafts, and wind blowing the flap open. Use the single flap version where insulation is less important. In this case, the flap will be on the outside while the locking cover remains on the inside.

Frame

Designed to be rugged and stylish. Unlike other metal framed dog doors that have flat metal frames, Pet-Corp dog doors have a beveled frame. Just like a picture frame.

Tunnel

The Pet-corp tunnel requires no cutting or assembling. Completely frames in the hole in your wall quickly and easily.

Wall thickness adjustment range is 4" to 7 1/8".

Security Panel

Pet-Corp security dog door's locking cover consists of a polyethylene core laminated between two aluminum alloy sheets. This produces a very strong material mainly used for building siding.

Pet Mate Pet Doors

Dog Mate 259 Electronic Small Dog Door:

The Dog Mate Small Dog Electronic Dog Door is operated by one 9 volt battery (not included) so it doesn't require a location near a wall outlet. The door senses the collar key, which is a small magnet, and unlocks. The dog (or cat) then pushes through.

The pet door is self-framing and includes a '4-way' lock which may be set for 'in only' and 'out only' in addition to locked and unlocked.

Note Reversed installation (turning the pet door around so that it controls from the inside rather than from the outside) will void the warranty.

This Dog Mate electronic pet door is identical to the Cat Mate Electronic Large Cat except for the collar keys which are larger and more suitable for the size and shape of a dog. Spare collar keys for dogs or cats may be ordered from the Parts and Flaps-Collar Keys category. Both types of keys will operate this door.

Cat Mate 255 Electronic Glass Fitting Cat Door:

Designed by Cat Mate, the 255 is designed to be installed in plate glass or other thin material.

As always, remember that you cannot cut tempered glass! If you wish to install this pet door in a tempered glass window or sliding glass door, you should engage a glazier to replace the original glass with a new piece that includes the circular hole required.

However, the CatMate 255 has an unusually wide "self-framing" dimension of 2". So it easily installs in a dual-pane, insulated patio sliding door (again, with the help of a glazier).

Unlike a "magnetic" cat flap, the Cat Mate 255 is "electromagnetic". So the magnet doesn't actually unlock the flap; it provides a magnetic field which the door can sense electronically. The practical benefit of this design is that the sensing of the magnet can be from a greater distance. It does not have to actually touch the sensor.

On the other hand, the electromagnetic design requires power so a 9 volt battery is needed for the door itself.

A "four-way" lock is included which allows the cat door to be set to "in-only", "out-only", "in and out" and "locked". When the door is locked or set for out only, the cat cannot enter even though she wears the collar key.

Two magnetic collar keys are provided. These are the same as provided for the Cat Mate 254 and 256 electromagnetic cat doors.

There is no direct replacement for the entire door that would fit into the existing opening. The SureFlap Microchip doors that also control who enters your house, but double check that it will fit your current cut out. We have replacement flaps available.

Cat Mate Manual 309 Cat Flap - Four Way Locking:

Cat Flaps are identical to each other except that the 304 locking mechanism allows for "locked" and "unlocked" only while the 309 adds "in only" and "out only".

These cat flaps are self-framing only to a maximum of 1/2" which effectively means they should not be used for hollow core doors. (Note: any door that is not solid wood should be considered "hollow core").

However, they certainly may be installed in any solid core wood door and, also, in thin materials no thicker than 1/2". A thin wood panel door or screen are two good examples.

In addition, the Cat Mate 303 Wall Liners may be used to allow installation of both of these cat flaps in a wall. Just use as many of these 2" sections as required for the thickness of the wall. They're found at "Parts & Flaps".

Cat Mate Manual Cat Flaps 234 2-Way Lock-Brown:

The flap is a rigid acrylic with weather strip around the perimeter and seals quite well. The Small/Medium size is actually marketed by Cat Mate as 'Small Dog' size. Previously they called it 'Large Cat' size and both descriptions are appropriate. That particular size incorporates a 4-way locking" mechanism as does the small '4-way' shown.

The 234 Cat Flap and 235 4-Way Lock Cat Flap may be installed in walls using the Cat Mate 303 tunnel sections. Buy as many as needed--at 2" each--for the thickness of the wall. These are found in "Cat Door Tunnel Sections".

The Cat Mate Manual Cat Flaps 234 & 235are plastic framed with a self-liner that serves to 'frame out' a hollow core door in a thickness range of 0" - 2". The liner also makes for a neater appearance in a solid core door.

Cat Mate 307 Elite Cat Door:

This version of the Cat Mate Elite 307 is a manual, self-framing cat flap including a new and improved 4-way locking mechanism.

The Cat Mate 307 will also accept the Cat Mate 308 Wall Liners designed for the Cat Mate Elite series cat flaps. These wall liners allow installation through a wall of any thickness. The self-framing adjustment range of the door itself is 0" - 2".

Ani-Mate Cat Mate 254 Brown/Grey:

A '4-way' lock rotary dial is visible in the lower right hand corner of the 08AM254. Cat Mate has recently both enhanced the performance of the small electronic and lowered the price! This has been a very reliable performer over the years.

You might suppose that one way to use the Cat Mate pet doors to keep one pet in while allowing another out would be to reverse the pet door so that it controlled pets on the inside but not, obviously then, on the outside. That idea works provided that you carefully shield the now outside portion of the pet door from the weather.

Note: Reversed installation (turning the pet door around so that it controls from the inside rather than from the outside) will void the warranty.

Another idea that we have encountered is installing two pet doors--one at each end of a fabricated wooden tunnel made long enough that the flaps don't interfere with each other. Then the outside unit controls access from the outside and the inside unit controls access from the inside. Such an installation would be easiest to accomplish in a wall.

Important note There is a third slide lock mounted in the bottom center of the pet door which locks the solenoid. However, several customers have misinterpreted its function, left the solenoid locked and thought that the pet door was malfunctioning. This is actually a handy feature to use in training.

This may be the perfect electronic cat door for the person who wants to get started with a chip-based electronic door but hasn't yet made the trip to the vet for the implant. He can start out with the collar key and switch to the chip whenever it's convenient.

Conversely, if the chip is already implanted, then you don't need to pay for the rfid id discs as they're not included. You only pay for them if you need them.

By the way, "chipping" you pet is an idea strongly endorsed by PetDoors.com. If you pet is lost--and it does happen--with a chip or some other form of id like a collar tag, you'll get him back. Without some form of ID he's almost certainly going to be 'put down' at the shelter.

A feature which we feel to be extremely important is the locking mechanism. Since the flap is hollow, and, by the way, insulates for that reason, the locking peg can insert directly into it. This design ensures that the flap cannot be opened by pushing or by pulling. This design gives confidence to the claim that the most difficult of break-in artists, raccoons, can be defeated.

Incidentally, the disc should not be used once the pet is chipped. Since every chip or disc is unique to the pet door, it will think two animals are trying to come through at the same time with unpredictable results.

Ani-Mate Cat Mate 305 Brown:

These are a great advance over the electronic pet doors already manufactured by this company.

The collar keys are RFID chips--the latest thing in collar key technology.These cat doors come with two such collar keys. The company refers to these as "electronic ID disc". They are waterproof.

The Super Elite can accommodate a total of 8 keys. Extra keys may be purchased.

These doors, of course, are designed to let your cats in and keep other critters out. This is accomplished by using a lock that inserts up the middle of the flap. Thus the flap can't be pushed in or pulled out. The company claims that this feature makes it raccoon proof--a very important consideration for some people.

This cat door also includes a 4-way locking device.

They are "self-framing" out to 2". The Cat Mate Elite 2" Wall Liner units may be added to allow installation in walls to any thickness. Each unit adds 2" to the tunnel length and the cat door itself provides the last 2" adjustment to ensure a tight fit.

• Will support 8 collar keys while the regular selective handles 7.
• Can track each of the RFID tags separately allowing individual access control. Each cat can have his own access times if desired.
• Can show the location (inside or outside) of up to 3 cats and, finally;
• Includes a timer control.

Cat Mate informs us that there are special installation instructions for metal doors included with the product. If these instructions are followed carefully, then the Elite Super Selective will work in a metal door.

Speaking of metal There must be no metal of any kind on the collar other than the rings on the rfid tag. No other magnets or metal dog tags for example.

Likewise, Cat Mate informs us that, so long as the door is at least 2-3 feet away from a transmitter, a "hidden fencing" system will not interfere with the Super Selective Cat Flaps.

Catwalk Magnetic Cat Door:

The Catwalk Magnetic Wood Fitting model is designed to fit into hollow or solid core wooden doors or wall panels.

A key feature of this product is the use of Makrolon ('polycarbonate') for the flap making it virtually indestructible. Other companies use Plexiglas which is not nearly as strong.

The self-framing adjustment range is from 5/8" to 2 1/4".

A 4-way lock is included.

This system operates with ever-lasting 'Multi-Magnets,' so no batteries are required. You may leave town without worrying about your pet being locked out or in due to battery or electrical failure. The unit comes with two magnets and additional sets of two are available.

A small magnet is attached to the pet collar, which activates the opening latch to allow small pet entry. Once the pet has entered, the door automatically closes the latch. Catwalk does not recommend the collar keys be used with kittens. Full grown cats only.

Important Note - These magnetic cat doors are being discontinued. At the moment there is no warranty support and they are being sold 'as is'. However, if the pet door is not functional upon delivery, you will receive a full refund from Patio Pacific Inc. Since there isn't a lot to go wrong with this magnetic pet door design, we think this is a very good deal!

Catwalk Glass Fitting Cat Doors:

The Catwalk Designer Glass Fitting Cat Door and the Catwalk Designer "Maxi" Glass Fitting Cat Door are both available in white frame and a very unobtrusive clear frame. They are designed to be installed in glass, single or double glazed, as well as other thin materials including plywood, Lexan or screen.

A circular 9.6" hole is required for installation of the regular size-6 3/4" x 6 1/4"-cat flap and the thickness accommodated is up to 1/4" with the screws provided or 1/2" maximum if you get longer screws.

For the Maxi size a circular cut out of 10.5" is required and the flap opening is increased to 71/4" x 7 11/16". Importantly, the adjustment range is extended to 1 1/16" which can be very important if you install through a double glazed unit thicker than 1/2".

Remember - You cannot cut tempered glass. So if you're not sure, have a professional glazier provide you with a new piece with the hole pre-cut. If you try to cut tempered, it will shatter. For a double-glazed situation, you can be pretty sure the glass is tempered and you'll need to have a glass shop make you a new insulated glass unit with the circular cut out.

A 4-way lock is included on both doors.

Screws provided are stainless (a big plus) and are not accessible from the outside.

The frames are self-draining for water build up from condensation.

What sets these "glass-fitting" cat flap apart from others is the use of UV stabilized, Makrolon which is a high-impact polycarbonate and very strong. No more broken flaps.

The larger, "Maxi" cat flap includes a brush-type weather seal while the regular sized cat flap does not. We think this seal is important and would not recommend the smaller size for 4-season use.

Top Tier status is the use of unbreakable polycarbonate for the flap which completely eliminates the need to replace broken flaps. GlazTec (the manufacturer of the Catwalk pet door series) guarantees the flap for as long as you own it.

The Catwalk 'Original' pet door is designed to fit external wooden doors or wall panels. The self-framing adjustment range is from 5/8" to 2 ¼". A 4-way lock is included.

Catwalk pet doors have been designed to be maintenance free by eliminating problems often associated with pet doors such as broken flaps, broken opening and closing systems, noise and seal damage by pets, rusting screws and difficulties with large cats.

There are a few doors like 234/235, 221, and 358 that work the same as the Catwalk. However, the cut out dimensions are a little different, so please double check them before purchasing.

Remember you cannot cut tempered glass. If you try, it will shatter. You can have a replacement piece of glass made, however. Or you can cut a hole in plate (not tempered) glass. If in any doubt about this point you should entrust the job to a professional glazier.

Installation in thin panels, plywood or screen is also a very appropriate choice for this cat flap.

The door is unlocked by "Multi-Super Magnets" only. Two are included. No electrical connection or batteries are required. As the magnets are fairly strong, the manufacturer suggests this door for cats at least 9 months of age.

This cat door will "frame out" up to 1/4" thickness. Or, if you purchase longer screws (don't know why they're not included!) you can extend this range to 1/2" maximum.

Self-drains dispose of condensation or moisture.

Includes a 4-way locking device that is separate from the magnetic operated mechanism for total cat control.

What separates this magnetic cat flap from other "in glass" doors in our view is the use of UV stabilized Makrolon from Bayer of Germany. This is similar to our commonly known polycarbonate and is very strong; much stronger than Plexiglas.

used in the Thermo Panel Magnetic™ combines a magnet-operated locking mechanism and a 4-way lock to give complete control over the access of your cats while keeping stray cats out. The CatWalk door is magnetic so there are no batteries to wear out at a bad time and there's no need to be near a wall outlet. Also, the CatWalk uses a polycarbonate flap which is much stronger than the typical Plexiglas flaps found on other electronic or magnetic cat flaps. We do a pretty good business in replacement flaps for the Plexiglas types but not for the polycarbonate types.

Two collar keys are included. These magnets are rather strong and not recommended for kittens.

Dogwalk Large Cat / Small Dog Pet Door:

This Door will accommodate even the largest cat and many dogs too, perhaps, 25 lbs. The 7" x 9 1/2" flap dimension is very large for a "Cat Flap" design pet door. Don't let the name "Dogwalk" bother you, the dogwalk flap is only about 7" x 9 1/2" so it's great for cats too!

Pet-tek has done a great job with the flap as it is made from the same material as their popular, regular sized cat flap - polycarbonate. This is a very strong material that we'd expect to survive a great deal of use.

The general rule of keeping the top of the flap opening above the pets shoulder is doubly important for the cat flap style doors. This practice eliminates the strain on the "ears" that support the flap in the frame.

As with nearly all cat flaps, a 4-way lock is included with the usual settings: in-only, out-only, unlocked and locked. The self-framing adjustment range is 3/8" - 2" which will fit nearly all interior and exterior doors. Because they're self-framing, installation in a hollow core wood or steel door is not a problem.

Choose the range that your track height falls into and when ordered you will be asked to give the exact height of your slider track inside very top to very bottom. Care Instructions:
To clean the inside cushion, remove it from the rest of the bed and place it in the washer on a warm, gentle cycle. Only a small amount of regular detergent is needed, and we recommend never using a fabric softener, dryer sheets or bleach, as they will alter the feel of the fabric. Tumble dry at the highest heat, or air dry the cushion after washing. To wash the cover, remove it from the bolster and zip it back up. Wash instructions remain the same as the inside cushion mentioned above. Unfortunately the inside bolster cannot be machine washed, so we recommend that you shake and air it out for three or four hours.
