The Staywell 400 Magnetic Cat Flap provides security against intrusion by strays without requiring batteries or house current! The secret? The collar key itself is a stronger magnet that actually unlocks the flap allowing access by your pet but not by other
pets or strays.
As the flap dimension is relatively large for a 'cat' sized door,
Staywell feels it to be suitable for cats up to 15 lbs. You should make your own test. This
cat flap is
self-framing from 0" to 2 1/4".
Tunnel sections may be added one at a time as needed for installation in a wall.
Because it's self-framing, it may be installed in any door including solid or hollow core, metal
(aluminum or other non-magnetic material), insulation filled etc.
It
should not be installed in a door made from steel or other magnetic
material. Hot Tip: Take
any magnet and see if it's attracted to the door you intend to use. If it
is, the door is magnetic.
Reversed installation (turning the
pet door around so that it controls from the inside rather than from
the outside) will void the warranty.
Important installation point: The
Staywell Magnetic cat flaps should be installed high enough so that
the collar key actually touches the tunnel when the cat approaches.
If not mounted high enough for this to happen, the door may not
respond. Naturally, as with all 'cat' doors, this one is perfectly suitable for small dogs as well. We would suggest measuring as always.
A
4-way lock is also included.
Hot Tip: If you want a spare collar key but don't need the
extra collar, Staywell tells us that you can use the
19SW980 collar key for the
Staywell 932 Magnetic
and
save the difference in cost. |
