The Ideal Pet Products Ruff Weather Pet Door, like any other pet door, may be installed in a wall by a person able to 'frame out' the wall himself and find the needed hardware at the hardware store. But it's a lot easier to use the wall kit provided by Ideal Pet Products offered below and we think it money well spent.

This same wall kit may be used to adapt the new  Ideal Protector Series pet door to a wall.

The Ruff Weather Wall Kit extends the self framing feature of the Ruff Weather pet door or the Protector Series pet door to accommodate 2x4 and 2x6 stud walls (4³/₄" - 5¹/₄" or 6³/₄"-7¹/₄"). 

You need to purchase either an Ideal Ruff Weather Pet Door or an Ideal Protector Series Pet Door to go with this wall kit.
