Ideal flaps will have either a plastic ('original') or a
metal ('deluxe') frame surrounding the flap.
Select your replacement flap accordingly as they are different.

pet door or planning to replace an existing Ideal pet door, Please see our

They are clear, not tinted, flexible vinyl.
There is a metal strap crimped to the bottom of the flap.
Note that the 'Large' size comes in plastic frame only. Most Ideal panels
pet doors for sliding glass door have been constructed with a plastic
'Original' installed in the panel. However, a few have been made with the
metal 'Deluxe' type doors.
Most Ideal Sash Window pet doors use the 'Original'
replacement flaps. The 'Cat Flap' version accepts the Ideal Cat Flap
replacement flaps.
If you have an Ideal panel with
plastic frame around the flap and that frame is cracked,
you can replace it at the same time you replace the
flap. No need to replace the entire panel. These are
called 'Replacement
Flap Assemblies'. The
magnet bar on recent Ideal pet doors 'floats' up and down. |
