The Gun Dog House Door "Big Dog Door" was
developed after the initial success of the regular, heavy duty Gun
Dog House Door. The design is the same but very much larger
with a flap dimension of 15" x 23". For this
reason, the Gun Dog House Door Company specifies dogs to 200 lbs. As
always, we recommend that you measure the size opening your dog
actually needs rather than go by weight. We do not recommend this
door for very small dogs or cats.
The optional closing cover mounts on the opposite
side of the door or wall from the pet door (it will not install over
the pet door. A sturdy,
1/2" thick polypropylene panel slides down
provided aluminum channels over a 14" x 20" opening. If you want
this locking cover to be proof against someone lifting from the
outside, drill a 1/2" hole through the cover
and wall on the inside and insert a short dowel.
