The
Catwalk Designer Glass Fitting Cat Door
and the Catwalk
Designer Maxi Glass Fitting Cat Door
are both available in
white frame and a very unobtrusive clear frame. They are designed to be
installed in glass, single or double glazed, as well as other thin
materials including plywood, Lexan or screen.
A circular 9.6" hole is required for installation of
the regular size-6 3/4"
x 6 1/4"
-cat flap and the thickness accommodated is up to
1/4" with the screws provided or
1/2"
maximum if you get longer screws.
For the Maxi size a circular cut out of 10.5" is
required and the flap opening is increased to 71/4"
x 7 11/16".
Importantly, the adjustment range is extended to 1
1/16"
which can be very important if you install through a double glazed unit
thicker than 1/2".
Remember - You cannot cut tempered glass. So if you're
not sure, have a professional glazier provide you with a new piece with
the hole pre-cut. If you try to cut tempered, it will shatter. For
a double-glazed situation, you can be pretty sure the glass is tempered
and you'll need to have a glass shop make you a new insulated glass unit
with the circular cut out.
A "four-way"
lock is included on both doors.
Screws provided are stainless (a big plus) and
are not accessible from the outside.
The frames are self-draining for water build up from
condensation.
What sets these "glass-fitting" cat flap apart from
others is the use of UV stabilized, Makrolon which is a high-impact
polycarbonate and very strong. No more broken flaps.
The larger, "Maxi" cat flap
includes a brush-type weather seal while the regular sized cat flap does
not. We think this seal is important and would not recommend the smaller
size for 4-season use. |
