Your first step towards freedom, is the Thermo-Sash II
pet door by Patio Pacific.
It’s a great alternative to carving out your precious
antique door or paying the extra money for an odd shaped glass window or
sliding door.
The Thermo-Sash II fits snugly into your window frame,
and installs within 20 minutes. No tools are needed. Yes, you read
correctly, no tools are needed. The folks at Patio Pacific have created a
window that comes in numerous sizes to easily accommodate your window
structure. The Thermo-Sash II’s spring-loaded sides also have a 3-inch
adjustment range that help to create an insulated seal.
The window uses dual pane insulated glass, and it comes
in five sizes to accommodate your pet: small, small/medium, medium, large
and extra large. The Thermo-Sash II can fit into windows ranging from 21 to
51 inches. It also comes in three colors: satin/aluminum, white and
bronze/brown.
Getting in touch with the folks at Patio Pacific is also
quite easy. Just give them the measurements inside your window frame and
your window will arrive in just a few weeks.
The Thermo-Sash II also comes with insulation foam that
is actually quite effective, eliminating a lot of airflow so you don’t have
to worry about high energy bills. Actually, the foam works great and even
improves the insulation on old windows.
The door mechanism is a sturdy plastic flap surrounded
by felt-like hair that moves with ease, but can’t opened by light to medium
wind. Hurricanes, on the other hand, may be a different story. The door
locks in either or both directions.
Patio Pacific has created a pet door/window combination
that is also easy to clean. Its solid construction makes it easy to remove
and replace without having to worry about re-assembly or losing small parts.
With an enclosed three-season porch, the door is ideal.
It allows your cat or dog to get some fresh air without it actually becoming
an “outdoor cat.” He or she can make friends without sharing all those nasty
little critters that pets tend to share, but it works for any scenario where

If you’re concerned about safety, we recommend getting
some thick dowels to secure your window from moving up and down. (The bottom
window on double-hung or up-and-down windows rests on the Thermo-Sash II.)
Simply place them between the frame and the top of the window that sits on
the Thermo-Sash II. A simple measurement is all you’ll need to ensure the
right sized dowel to secure you window.
Even more importantly, did we mention sleeping in on the
weekends again? The days of waking to a wailing or whining pet are over. And
think of the animal’s feelings. Your cat or dog will again feel a sense of
pride and self-reliance, no longer having to beg and cry to be let out.
Not sold because you have a stubborn or seemingly stupid
pet? Get real. Your pet is smarter than you think. It took one cat barely a
week of training. Just follow the training directions, as they are quite
effective. Be careful using too many treats because your pet may be smarter
than the average bear. It took a guest sleeping over on the couch near the
window to clue us in to the fact that our cat was in and out at its every
whim. He only played dumb for us to get treats.
